Saudi Reception

On 20 th February the AICC hosted a reception for a delegation from Saudi Arabia visiting Ireland for the tenth Joint Business Council meeting of the Ireland Saudi Arabia Business council. The visit also coincided with the intergovernmental Joint Economic Commission meeting at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation was led by Dr. Abdullah I. Al-Mohel and members represented a broad range of business sectors visiting Ireland to meet potential new Irish business partners.

AICC Chairman Dr. Niall Holohan and Secretary General and CEO Mr. Ahmad Younis welcomed the Saudi delegation to the reception at the Merrion hotel. The evening was an opportunity for AICC members and clients to network with over 40 Saudi business and government representatives.

Dr Orlaigh Quinn, Secretary General of the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation, was the keynote speaker and spoke of the positive development in the business relations between the two countries. Dr. Quinn also pointed out that government policies to drive export-led growth are paying dividend despite uncertainty in international markets with exports showing strong growth for both Irish- and foreign-owned companies.
