GAA Sponsorship

The Arab Irish Chamber of commerce announced their sponsorship of the Naomh Alee GAA Club in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia earlier this year.  Established in 1994 the club is the longest established GAA club in the region and has served as a focal point for the Irish and ex-pat community, a place where all are made to feel welcome. The establishment of Naomh Alee GAA Club in Riyadh marked the beginning of formal Gaelic Games in the Arabian Peninsula.

During a recent Trade Mission led by Tainiste Leo Varadkar, Ahmad Younis AICC Secretary General & Mr. Patrick Moynagh presented a club jersey to Tainiste Dr. Leo Varadkar.

Ahmad Younis, Secretary-General & CEO of the Arab-Irish Chamber of Commerce said at the presentation, “We are delighted to be part of Middle East GAA for the upcoming season. We have witnessed the growth of the Gaelic Games across the Gulf over the last number of years and admire the community spirit’.
